Ice rainbow

January 30th, 2016

Picture from the 16'th of January this year, when we still had old, classic winter. Freezing cold that day, clear sky and even a small ice rainbow. iPhone-camera has its limitations, that's for sure, but still - it is there

Cross country-skiing at Løken this weekend

January 24th, 2016

Enjoying what might be, but hopefully not, the last pieces of good skiing where we live. Had to go late to the shop yesterday, when I saw someone in the lighte cross-country skiing track down at Løken. So I just went straight home and picked up the skis and headed right back for my first time doing cross-country skiing least two years, possibly more... (not good). And then back this evening as well. The weather forecast is no good for skiing, so maybe once more tomorrow, but then the rain will come and all is gone.
Picture from yesteday evening.

Last weekend, enjoying some time alone, watching Game of Thrones and enjoying Tunsjøen Bitter, limited edition for the lucky few chosen ones. Enjoyed both the episode and the beer, even have more episodes recorded and one more bottle to look forward to.

Not a bridge over troubled water

January 15th, 2016

Passing Fetsund yesterday, the view from the bridge over Glomma was pretty nice.

January 15th, 2016

Nothing burns like the cold

January 14th, 2016

I feel for quoting Game of Thrones today

“Nothing burns like the cold. But only for a while. Then it gets inside you and starts to fill you up, and after a while you don't have the strength to fight it.”

. Yet another weather picture, but -24/-25, it's been a while since the last time it was that cold here.

This seasons forest tending project

January 11th, 2016

On Saturday I started this winters forest tending project. The first day was spent just to make way for the tractor which was pretty much work, a lot of small trees that I needed to get out of the way

The red dot showing how far I got before I had to turn around. For those who know the area, the brown dot to the left is the water tower, Vanntårnet.

Baking bread with a slight taste of beer

January 11th, 2016

Had three bottles of Tuborg in the cellar which I knew that I never would drink

Confirmed by the date, they have been downstairs for a while, but still, no issue when baking bread. Made them taste even better.

My latest book - War and Peace Vol I, Leo Tolstoj

January 8th, 2016

Finished War and Peace volume I. All volumes was given to my partens in-law when the got married. This version was translated back in the 60's to Norwegian Nynorsk and that makes it even harder, but halfway through the book it got easier. I must admit that I get a bit confused from time to time due to all the details, but all in all it is interesting to read. And I have decided to start reading volume II and postpone volume IV of the new book about Halvor Skramstad written by Jon Michelet (which I am really looking forward to, so I have to hurry up finishing the last three volumes of War and Peace).

WebSphere admin console unavailable due to SRVE0232E: Internal Server Error

Since Google did not return any hits for the error we had on one of our servers I add it here for future references. The error logged in SystemOut.log was

ContainerHelp E   WSVR0501E: Error creating component java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.VerifyError: JVMVRFY024 arguments are not type compatible; class="com"/ibm/ws/webcontainer/srt/SRTRequestContext...

The solution was to clear the WebSphere class caches as described in this IBM technote

It is hard being a man

January 4th, 2016

Just had a shower, about to shave myself, just grabbed the box with shaving gel and when applying it I spotted the box with moisturiser. So therefore my brain immediately switched from "apply only where needed to shave" to "apply all over".

A rabbit

January 3rd, 2016

Couple of days ago we where all out walking in the forest when we found this rabbit, all carved out of wood. Someone has had a lot of spare time, I guess while out hunting sitting there waiting for some deer to pass by.
